Nepal in Executive Board of UNICEF

KATHMANDU, Jan 9: Nepal has assumed the responsibility of the Executive Board of UNICEF from Saturday.

Nepal was elected to the Executive Board of the UNICEF for 2016-2018 unanimously from the Asia Pacific Region.


Nepal’s Permanent Mission to the UN in New York said that Nepal’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Durga Prasad Bhattarai, was elected the Vice-Chairperson of the Executive Board unopposed on Saturday.

Nepal had contributed to the UNICEF by remaining in the Executive Board in different times including 1982 to 1985, 1992 to 1995 and 2002 to 2004. RSS
