KATHMANDU, Feb 6: With 27 days remaining until the election, the Election Commission said ballot printing has been completed for 60 districts, while packing work is moving ahead at full pace.
The commission said printing and packing of first-past-the-post ballots have already been completed for 25 districts.
Ballot papers printed for 36 districts
According to details shared by the commission, ballot printing and packing have been completed for Dolpa, Mugu, Jumla, Kalikot, Humla, Jajarkot, Dailekh, Rukum West, Salyan, Surkhet, Bajura, and Achham.
Likewise, the work has also been finished for Bajhang, Doti, Dadeldhura, Darchula, Baitadi, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Panchthar, Ilam, Terhathum, Bhojpur, Okhaldhunga, and Sunsari, taking the total to 25 districts.
Ballot printing has been completed for 60 districts in total, though packing for some of them is still pending.
The commission said ballot printing has reached its final stage, and packing is being carried out step by step. The printing work is underway at Janak Education Materials Centre Limited.
Printing of ballots for the proportional representation system has already been completed. A total of 20.83 million ballots have been printed, packed, checked, and kept ready for transportation.
For the first past the post system, 20.323 million ballots need to be printed. Printing for this category began on January 30. The commission also said 1,098,200 sample ballots have already been printed and dispatched to districts.
