CHENNAI, Feb 5: In a warm-up match at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Canada posted a competitive total of 161 for 6 in 20 overs, setting Nepal a target of 162 for victory.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Canada overcame a strong mid-innings effort by Nepal to post a respectable score, thanks to aggressive hitting in the final overs.

Opener Navneet Dhaliwal top-scored for Canada with 41 runs off 36 balls, including 1 four and 3 sixes, while middle-order batsman Kanwarpal Tatgur added 25. Towards the end, Shreyas Movva smashed an unbeaten 38 off 19 balls and Jaskaran Singh struck 21 from 11 balls, contributing to 58 runs in the last five overs.
For Nepal, leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane bowled tightly, conceding just 14 runs in 4 overs while taking 2 key wickets. Kushal Bhurtel also took 2 wickets for 26 runs in 3 overs, while Sompal Kami and Nandan Yadav claimed 1 wicket each. Lalit Rajbanshi and Karan KC went wicketless.
