Mid-Western regional fair in February

KATHMANDU, Jan 19: In an effort to stimulate local economy through promotion of industrial products and tourism, the government and private sector are jointly organizing the Mid-Western Regional Industrial Fair and Banke Tourism Festival 2012 from February 10-21 in Nepalgunj.



Nepalgunj Chambers of Commerce and Industry (NCCI), Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), the government and Small and Cottage Industry Development Fund are jointly organizing the 12-day event on the premises of Mid-Western Regional Division Road Office in Nepalgunj.[break]



“We are organizing the industrial fair and tourism festival to bring together investors, producers, distributors and exporters to a single forum to boost economic activities and promote tourist spots in the region,” said Sunil Kumar Sharma, president of NCCI, at a press conference organized in the capital Thursday.



Different business organizations involved in manufacturing, tourism, agriculture, small and cottage industry and financial sectors are exhibiting their goods and services at 200-300 stalls at the fair.



Organizers have expected around 200,000 visitors to observe the event and over Rs 40 million turnover.
