It has been revealed that Miya sold a piece of land belonging to his wife Jubeda Miyan, without her knowledge. Jubeda has blamed that her husband sold the land by making a fake citizenship certificate of hers. [break]
Miya had sold 6 aana 3 dam of land at Bharatpokhari allegedly using Jubeda´s fake citizenship certificate three months ago. Jubeda has said that she would take the matter to court. She said that her husband sold the land without informing her in an attempt to take control of all the family property in the wake of family conflict.
On September 12, Miyan sold the land with the plot no 2216 at Bharatpokhari VDC-9 to Bishnu Maya Adhikari for Rs 2.25 million.
After he could not get her consent and the original citizenship certificate to sell the land, Miyan had faked the citizenship certificate of his wife.
Though the certificate contains all true information and Jubeda´s photograph, the name and signature of the administrative officer do not match.
The original citizenship certificate possessed by Jubeda contains the name and signature of Administrative Officer Siva Pani Baral, while the photocopy of the certificate submitted at the Tanahu District Land Revenue Office by Miyan to sell the land contains the name and signature of Nawaraj Baral.
According to a source at the Land Revene Office, Miyan had come along with a lady who, he said, was his wife. The lady, who was wearing a head scarf, had silently signed all the papers. Miya´s two sons, Farhan and Irfan, were also present at the office at the time. “We had suspected of she not being the real person. But we could not do anything after both of his sons said that she was indeed their mother,” said an employee of the Land Revenue office.
Miyan has gone into hiding since Friday after a police case was registered charging him of sexually exploiting a 13-year old girl working as a domestic help in his house. The police, acting on a tip-off, raided Miyan´s residence in Pokhara-9 and rescued the victim on Friday.
The former lawmaker´s wife Jubeda, too, revealed that she had caught her husband in compromising position with the housemaid many times. Miyan was nominated to the CA by the UCPN (Maoist) under proportional quota.
The police said that special teams have been deployed in suspected areas to nab Miyan.
