Dorje Bahadur Lama, 51, of Bhojpur Municipality-2 had allegedly set fire to his younger brother's house on Saturday night where his mother and his younger brother were sleeping.
The thatched hut was completely destroyed in the fire, said DSP Raj Kumar Lamsal.
Police said they are investigating into the incident after filing a case against Tamang.
