KATHMANDU, Jan 27: Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are promoting Internet Protocol (IP) telephony apart from Internet packages through fiber optics at Explore Asia CAN Info-Tech 2012. Most of the ISPs participating in the event have unveiled new tariff starting from less than Re 1 for calls abroad.

Through IP telephony, the analog audio signal (like the kind we hear while talking on the phone) is converted to digital data that can be transmitted over the Internet. [break]
