KATHMANDU, Dec 22: The International Cricket Council (ICC) is set to discuss about the recent developments of Nepali cricket during its meeting to be held next month.

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN)'s newly-elected President Chatur Bahadur Chand on Tuesday informed that the ICC will discuss about the problems faced by Nepali cricket during the meeting scheduled to be held on January 14.Ashok Nath Pyakurel, general secretary of CAN, said during a press meet organized by CAN in Kathmandu on Tuesday that some of the officials of the ICC informed CAN that the ICC will hold discussing about Nepali cricket's crisis.

However, Pyakurel informed that the ICC is yet to formally recognize the newly-elected executive committee of CAN under Chatur Bahadur Chand. The general assembly of CAN on December 14 and 15 elected Chand as its new president. The general assembly was held without the representatives of the ICC.

"We have informed about the general assembly of CAN to the ICC. However, it has not informed formally whether the newly-elected body was recognized or not," said Pyakurel, although he added that the executive committee under Chand has been coordinating with the ICC.

He also added that some of the ICC officials are positive about the newly-elected committee.
