HSEB to introduce bar code, OMR technology for exams

KATHMANDU, March 1: The Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) is introducing the use of bar code and optical mark reader (OMR) in answer sheets in order to avoid any irregularities in examinations.



The new technology said to be the first of its kind in Nepal would also help to bring out the results of the examinations quicker, according to the Board.[break]



Speaking at a press meet held in the capital on Thursday, HSEB Examinations Controller Durga Prasad Aryal said the new technology is being adopted in order to make the examinations system managed, safe and transparent.



Data entry will require minimum human resource and confidentiality will be maintained as far as the answer sheets are concerned, he added.
