KATHMANDU, Dec 15: International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman Jay Shah has congratulated the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) for the successful organisation and execution of the recently concluded second season of Nepal Premier League (NPL).
In a formal letter to CAN President Chatur Bahadur Chand on Sunday, Shah praised the league for setting “notable standards” both in management and the quality of cricket. Shah highlighted Chand’s leadership and vision as key to taking cricket in Nepal to new heights, noting that the smooth conduct of the league, enthusiastic team participation, and strong support from fans nationwide reflect CAN’s dedication and hard work.

The letter also noted that the NPL provided a “strong platform for emerging talents” and strengthened Nepal’s image in the international cricket community, signaling that Nepal cricket is moving in the right direction.
Shah concluded by extending his best wishes for the success of CAN’s future initiatives to promote and develop cricket in Nepal.
