KATHMANDU, Oct 3: Anil Kumar Mandal’s 63 off 129 balls and Shakti Gauchan’s five wicket haul secured Nepal a four-wicket victory against the United Arab Emirates in the ACC Trophy Elite cricket tournament in Sharjah on Wednesday.
Nepal restricted the UAE to 133 runs in 40.5 overs after the latter chose to bat winning the toss. Nepali spinner Basanta Regmi took three wickets. [break]
For the host, Mohammad Azam was the top-scored with 33 off 25 balls including three fours and two sixes.
In reply, Anil Kumar Mandal scored 63 runs with five boundaries before being caught by Mohammad Azam in Ashad Ali´s ball.
Except Mandal, Nepali players were rounded-up scoring less than 17 runs. Pradip Airee chipped in 17 runs off 24 balls while Sharad Vesawkar scored 16 off 51 balls.
