Property worth over Rs 10 million was destroyed after a house belonging to Ishwori Rai of Chyasmitar-5 caught fire. The fire destroyed cash, gold and silver ornaments, three-storey building, grocery and clothe stores.
The incident took place at 11:30 pm when the shop of Rai caught fire after they were sleeping.
A local Mahasher Camparai said that the fire was doused only at 4:00 am with the support of police personnel and locals.
Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Khotang, Bidyananda Majhi, said that cause behind the fire has not been ascertained yet and investigation into the incident was underway. RSS
