The post of president of the country's leading private sector organization has remained vacant since March following the arrest of incumbent president Pradeep Jung Pandey in a three-decade old corruption case.
Acting President of FNCCI Pashupati Murarka said the decision was taken as per the statute of FNCCI. "Though we have set the date for election, most of the members are of the view on selecting new president on consensus basis," added Murarka.The meeting has also has entrusted the task of reconstructing buildings of primary schools in 14 quake-hit districts in coordination with Rotary Club to its past president Kush Kumar Joshi.
FNCCI also has appealed to all traders to provide essential commodities at fair price at this time of crisis.
The apex body of private sector has also said that it will prepare a detailed concept paper on damages to country's overall economy as well as businesses caused by the earthquake.
Meanwhile, FNCCI has said it distributed relief material worth Rs 100 million through its weeklong relief operation camp set up at Brikutimandap.
