DHANGADI, Oct 3: Cadres of opposition parties and locals demanding the far western region as an undivided state have blocked the Attariya-Dhangadhi section of East West Highway, on Wednesday.
They have enforced the highway shutdown to obstruct Deputy Prime Minister Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar´s return to the capital, protesting his statement on Tuesday that the strikers said was against the idea of an undivided far-west.
They have also warned to shut down government offices and obstruct government vehicles from plying on the road.
Gachchhadar had to dupe the protestors and escape through Khutiya road after the protestors obstruct his convoy to Dhangadi.
Protestors even pelted stones at Ganesh Lama, controversial central committee member of the party.
