CAN Info-Tech 2012 to feature latest in ICT industry

KATHMANDU, Jan 2: Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) on Monday announced a range of new products and services that will be showcased during the upcoming Explore Asia CAN Info-Tech 2012.



The 18th edition of Can Info-Tech is being held at Bhrikuti Mandap from Jan 26-31.[break]



Speaking at a media briefing organized in the capital, CAN officials said latest Tablet PCs, compact desktop, Smart TV, Wireless DSL and Fiber to the Home (FTTH) broadband connection will be the major attractions of Info-Tech.



CAN President Suresh K Karna said many exhibitors were launching new products and services and offering attractive discounts during the Info-Tech.



Explore Asia - the title sponsor of the Info-Tech - is offering special discounts on products of A-Data, Dell, HP and other brands. “We are focusing on Tablet PC. We will introduce products by different brands at affordable price,” said Ajay Sadewra, director of Explore Asia.







Suman Lal Pradhan of WebSurfer said his company would launch Wireless DSL for home use. The new service is expected to provide high speed Internet at reasonable price.



Similarly, Huawei is bringing in enterprise solution, including different layers of switch and routers.



According to Karna, total investment in the Info-Tech is estimated at around Rs 9 million.



CAN Info-Tech is the largest ICT event in the country. The 18th edition of the Info-Tech will have 39 stalls in Branding Exhibition Centre, 144 in Truss, three in open space and 13 food stalls.



Majority of the stalls belong to firms dealing in hardware sales and maintenance, power solutions and mobile accessories. Similarly, dealers and distributor of different brands, Internet service providers (ISPs), printing services, telecommunication firms, training centers and colleges, and software solution providers are also participating in the event.



CAN is also organizing ICT Conference 2012 on the sidelines of the Info-Tech. The conference will be held on Jan 29 and 30 with the theme of ´Internet is for everyone´.

The association has been organizing ICT conference for the past 11 years.
