KAPILVASTU, March 9: Vice-President of the Nepali Congress, Ram Chandra Poudel, has said that the new constitution writing process would not be moved ahead at any cost by bypassing the Constituent Assembly (CA) in the name of consensus and agreements signed before the first CA elections.

Speaking at a press conference organised by the Nepal Press Union, Kapilvastu, at Taulihawa, Vice-president Poudel said that writing the new constitution from outside the CA was not possible by undermining the main spirit of the CA.

He further said that the former King Gyanendra has also started talking about the previous agreement now in the context of talking about the past agreements.

Poudel said, "CA is greater than the agreement. Let's see the previous agreements. It has mentioned that the final decision will be taken by CA."

Vice-Chairman Poudel visited the Tilaurakot Durbar area. He stressed that the government should pay a special attention for the development of Kapilvastu area along with the development of Lumbini.
