'Brishav Badh' revolves around the happenings in the north-east village of Kathmandu 50 years ago. It portrays the friendship and struggles between the protagonist Kishore Sharma and his bull Dadhe. The story describes how a bull's work managed to influence the local administration to the central administration and the entire political system, and how they used the influence in their favor.
Like his earlier offerings, 'Brishav Badh' too is a political novel. Storywriter and poet Avinash Shrestha remarked, "The book has introduced to a new avatar of Narayan Dhakal."
Another writer Narayan Pande shared, "Written in simple and clear language, 'Brishav Badh' is an interesting read with sharp political knowledge. Even the political context of nearly five decades ago can be easily related to the one of today. That is precisely the success of the novel."
Author Dhakal, who is also popular as a political commentator, said that this book is for everyone who have forgotten or never witnessed "that period" of our country.
'Brishav Badh' is priced at Rs 325.
