Kidnappers telephoned the family members of Shrawan Bhandari (Mali), 10, and demanded ransom.
Family members had requested police to search for the missing youth on Monday.
Abductors have demanded Rs 2 million for release of Shrawan, a third-grader at local Motherland Boarding School.
DSP Madhav Budhathoki at District Police Office, Siraha said they are investigating the case.
