Ananta Raj Khadka, a permanent resident of Saptari, was hit by two bullets when the assailant attacked Asst CDO Bal Bahadur Malla while he was getting into a car at his official residence.
Malla, who was already inside the car when the bullets were fired, sustained minor injuries and is receiving treatment at the Narayani Sub-regional Hospital. The incident occurred at 10:10 a.m.
Meanwhile, an outfit called Samyukta Janatantrik Mukti Morcha called local radio stations over the phone and owned up to the attack.
