5 traffic police caught receiving bribes, suspended

KATHMANDU, Dec 1: DIG Upendra Kanta Aryal of Metropolitan Traffic Police (MTP) caught five traffic police personnel receiving bribe red-handed. Aryal who was in civil dress, caught senior police constable Ganesh Kumar Shrestha along with others receiving bribes from an Indian vehicle at Sanepa, Lalitpur.



They have been suspended and the department has begun action against them, Pawan Giri, spokesperson of MTP said. [break]



Following complaints of growing irregularities in fines collected by traffic police, DIG Aryal personally began monitoring in civil dress.
