The clash between police and protesters was ensued after the latter resorted to vandalism and arson of government offices. Angry protesters have torched District Education Office, Drinking Water and Sanitation Office and office of Mithila Bideha Tourism Promotion Committee.
Demonstrators are clashing with police at Ram Chowk.
District Police Office said some 12 protesters and ASI Chaudhary Yadav of Nepal Police were injured in the clash. All the injured are being treated at Janakpur Zonal Hospital.
