Vehicles resume operation from New Bus Park

KATHMANDU, Sept 12: Passenger buses have resumed operation from the New Bus Park in Gongabu, Kathmandu. Public transport services had been halted after the government imposed prohibitory orders and curfews on Sept 8 and 9 due to Gen Z protests.



According to Pankaj Malla, Human Resources Head at Lhotse Multipurpose Pvt Ltd, dozens of vehicles departed from the Valley between 7 am and 10 am on Friday.

Earlier, the Federation of Nepali Transport Entrepreneurs had instructed its member organizations not to operate vehicles under unfavorable circumstances. However, operators resumed services independently on Friday.


Senior Vice President of the Federation, Saroj Sitoula, said discussions are ongoing with security agencies and the ministry to determine how to formally manage transport services in the coming days.
