Nepalis being cheated in Jogbani market

BIRATNAGAR, Dec. 10: People, who used to visit Jogbani, a bordering Indian market linked with Biratnagar Sub-metropolis, for buying goods are being cheated now a days.



It is found that businesspersons at the Jogbani market used to sell goods of low quality at high price showing attractive goods to customers.



Customers complained that they were cheated of tens of thousands of rupees daily while buying goods of high price especially Kurta salwar, jackets, sweaters, bed sheets, among others.



Famous cloth stores in Jogbani market including Kolkata Cloth Store, Adarsha Cloth Store, among others, are found to be cheating Nepali customers.





Goods worth Rs. 20 million is sold at Jogbani every day. People of the city, rural and hilly areas of Itahari, Inaruwa, Jhumka, Rajbiraj, Dharan, Damak, Birtamod, Dhankuta, among other places used to visit Jogbani market.



It is estimated that around 10,000 Nepali customers visit Jogbani market every day.
