If the leadership fails to do this, we cannot hope for a better future for the party. I am not happy with the sharp division among the party members along factional lines.

Nepal Needs Healing, Not More Division
The sharp division among party leaders during the general convention was not such a great deal. By the end of this convention, the factions will become united to form a versatile party. I am delighted to be getting a new leadership that can close the widening gap between Madhesi and Hill people.

I would love to see a youth leadership by the end of this convention. The number of youth representatives at this convention is higher in comparison to earlier conventions. Only a young leadership can face the challenges encountered with the promulgation of the new constitution.

It’s not an easy task to implement the new constitution which was promulgated through such immense effort. If there is no visionary leadership in the country’s largest party, implementation of the new constitution will only take the country back.

We have a new constitution but no one knows the provisions of the new constitution. So, it’s the duty of the upcoming leadership to unite with other political parties and make people understand the rights incorporated in the new constitution. NC’s new leadership should have the zeal for economic development.

The country is undergoing a series of serious crises and needs a strong leadership to guide it to new heights. It is hard to compete within the party with the same traditional thinking and there are also lots of hurdles for the party to continue as number one. The party should introduce a new policy and program that suits the country in the changed context.

The new constitution has some significant provisions related to women but some further improvements under the upcoming leadership are still needed.
