RAUTAHAT, Feb 5 : A four-year-old girl was killed after being hit by a vehicle belonging to a candidate of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in Rautahat’s constituency no 2 on Thursday.
The victim, Alpha Khatun, a resident of Ishanath Municipality–4, Mathiya, was struck by a car carrying RSP candidate Sagir Alam while it was heading out for election campaigning.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 2:30 pm when the high-speed car (Ba 15 Cha 4244) hit the child. She was critically injured and later died during treatment.
The driver rushed the injured child to the Provincial Hospital in Gaur, but fled from the hospital after her death, police said.
Police have taken the vehicle involved in the incident under control and are searching for the absconding driver, according to DSP Bishnu Pradeep Basyal, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Rautahat.
