Outgoing Minister Joshi, who is also chairman of CPN (Samyukta), submitted his resignation letter to Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai at the latter´s office in Singha Durbar, Tuesday afternoon. "It is better to quit if you cannot walk together. I decided to quit, feeling that I cannot move ahead with them," Joshi told Republica.[break]
Joshi alleged that the government was not run in the spirit of coalition culture and was bent on forging a ruling alliance. He had been very critical of the government´s move to forge a ruling alliance to counter the opposition parties.
Earlier, the central committee of his party had decided to quit the government, concluding that it was bent on ruling the country through ordinances. Joshi reached the ministry to bid farewell to the employees shortly after tendering his resignation.
