KATHMANDU, Dec 30: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli on Tuesday described those who attacked Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba as “Lucifers,” saying multiple such forces, not just one, were behind the assaults.
Speaking at a discussion program organized by the Madan–Ashrit Memorial Foundation on the theme “Messages from the recently concluded UML general convention and political roadmaps”, Oli questioned the motives behind the September 8–9 protests.

Political commentator Saurav Rishal had earlier referred to Mayor Balen Shah as a “Lucifer,” alluding to his alleged role in the arson and vandalism on September 9. In Christian lore, Lucifer is a fallen angel often associated with evil.
“Who are these ‘Lucifers’ targeting Deuba? There is more than one,” Oli said, condemning the protests as anti-democratic and reactionary. “Calling this arson a ‘revolution’ glorifies forces that are essentially unpatriotic and anti-democratic. Nothing about it is sacred,” he added.
