KATHMANDU, Feb 25: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is preparing to decrease load-shedding by 2 hours a day effective from Thursday. Currently the power goes for 13 hours a day.

The NEA has decided to slash load shedding hours after it imported 80 MW power from India.

With the additional import through partial operation of the 400 KVA transmission line that spans the 140 kilometers from Dhalkebar of Nepal to India's Muzaffarpur, has also helped to decrease the power outage hours from the current level of 91 hours per week or 13 hours a day effective from February 1 2016. However, the NEA has not yet published a new schedule.
