KATHMANDU, August 24: The Nepal Police has said that an investigation has been started against Senior Sub-Inspector of Police Tanka Karki.
Karki is assigned to the security team of Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand. Stating that its serious attention has been drawn to the news reports of 'involvement of PSO Tanka Karki with gold smugglers', Nepal Police Spokesperson Deputy Inspector General of Police Tek Prasad Rai in a statement on Tuesday said that Karki has been transferred to the Police Headquarters Supervision and Monitoring Division and investigation against him is currently underway.

"After inquiry and investigation into the incident, action shall be taken against him, if found guilty, according to the law," reads the statement.
