Bajracharya wins second singles title

KATHMANDU, Dec 24: Samrakshan Bhusan Bajracharya on Saturday won U-12 boys´ singles title and become the only player to lift twin singles title in the 10th Jaykar Memorial Junior Open Tennis Tournament held at Satdobato tennis court.



In U-12 boys´ final, 10 year old Bajracharya recorded a straight set 6-3, 6-3 win over Sakchyam Karki. Bajracharya had also won U-10 boys´ singles title on Friday. For winning the U-12 title Bajracharya was rewarded with Rs 12,500 and Khatri got Rs 6,500.[break]



and Samrakshan Bhusan Bajracharya won U-14 girls´ and U-12 boys´ singles title respectively on Saturday in the 10th Jaykar Memorial Junior Open Tennis Tournament held at Satdobato tennis court.



Bivuti Karki took home U-14 girls´ singles title. Karki registered a comfortable 6-1, 6-1 win over Bijisha Shrestha in the final. Winner Karki bagged purse of Rs 17,500 and runner up Shrestha received Rs 9,000.



The winners and the runners up were awarded by Jyoti Rana, the president of organizer Man-Jaykar Tennis Academy and the vice president of All Nepal Lawn-tennis Association.



The week-long tournament features 177 players, including 53 girl players, five in girls category and six in boys category.
