Lumbini is a pride of the nation: President Bhandari

KATHMANDU, June 11: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has emphasized on the need to preserve and promote the sacred sites around the birthplace of Gautam Buddha and develop Lumbini as a town of peace internationally. Speaking at a program organized Saturday at the Sulakchan Kirti Bihar in Chovar to extend best wishes to Chief of the Bihar Dr Anoja Guruma, who was recently honored with the 'Mahasadhamma Jyotikdwaj Award 2016' by the government of Myanmar, President Bhandari said it was a matter of pride and happiness that Lumbini remains as a sacred pilgrimage for Buddhists around the world and also for those who believe in peace, non-violence, fraternity, tolerance and compassion.

BIRATNAGAR, June 11: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the government is ready to address the demands of the disgruntled parties on Saturday. Inaugurating  Tarini Prasad Koirala Smriti Sanchargram in Biratnagar today, Oli said the government will address the demands of the agitating parties if they come to a dialogue with logical agendas. "Put forth your clear-cut demands mentioning the Articles of the Constitution, the government will address them," Oli said, claiming that the Constitution has not discriminated anyone in the country.

CHITWAN, June 11: Nepali Congress Central Committee member Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has said that the existing problems should be resolved by forming a national consensus government. Speaking at a news conference organized by Chitwan chapter of Press Union here Saturday, leader Mahat said, "The incumbent government cannot resolve the problems of the people. So the national consensus government should be formed as soon as possible."
