KATHMANDU, March 8: Nepal Rastra Bank has fixed new foreign exchange rates for today. According to the central bank, the buying rate for one US dollar is Rs 138.70, while the selling rate is Rs 139.30.
The buying rate for one euro is Rs 150.49, and the selling rate is Rs 151.14. Similarly, one UK pound sterling is being traded at Rs 179.17 for buying and Rs 179.95 for selling, while one Swiss franc stands at Rs 157.76 for buying and Rs 158.44 for selling.
For other major currencies, the buying and selling rates are as follows: one Australian dollar at Rs 87.40 and Rs 87.78, one Canadian dollar at Rs 96.91 and Rs 97.33, and one Singapore dollar at Rs 104.27 and Rs 104.72, respectively.
Among Asian currencies, the exchange rate for 10 Japanese yen is Rs 9.40 for buying and Rs 9.44 for selling, while one Chinese yuan stands at Rs 19.17 for buying and Rs 19.25 for selling. The exchange rates for one Saudi Arabian riyal and one Qatari riyal are Rs 36.97 and Rs 38.05 for buying and Rs 37.13 and Rs 38.22 for selling, respectively.
For other notable currencies, the buying and selling rates for one Thai Baht are Rs 4.12 and Rs 4.14, one UAE dirham at Rs 37.76 and Rs 37.93, one Malaysian ringgit at Rs 31.42 and Rs 31.55, 100 South Korean won at Rs 9.59 and Rs 9.63, one Swedish krona at Rs 13.72 and Rs 13.78, and one Danish krone at Rs 20.18 and Rs 20.26, respectively.
The exchange rates for some Gulf currencies are as follows: one Hong Kong dollar at Rs 17.85 for buying and Rs 17.92 for selling, one Kuwaiti dinar at Rs 450.25 and Rs 452.20, one Bahraini dinar at Rs 367.92 and Rs 369.51, and one Omani rial at Rs 360.27 and Rs 361.83, respectively.
The exchange rate for 100 Indian rupees is Rs 160.00 for buying and Rs 160.15 for selling. Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that these exchange rates are subject to revision at any time. The central bank has also noted that commercial banks may set different rates, and the latest updates will be available on its official website.
