KATHMANDU, March 2: Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Kumar Thapa has announced the launch of a help desk to assist Nepali citizens affected by the recent developments in the Middle East.
Thapa said the help desk has been established to facilitate support for Nepalis facing difficulties abroad, as well as for passengers stranded at Tribhuvan International Airport due to flight disruptions.
Nepalis worry for their loved ones in Middle East
Many Nepalis living in various Middle Eastern countries have been impacted by the ongoing crisis. Some require relief, relocation, or immediate rescue, while others have been unable to contact their families. Following flight cancellations, travelers in Nepal have also faced difficulties.
“The government is working from its side. To further support those efforts, we have brought the help desk into operation,” Thapa wrote on social media. He added that coordination is being carried out with Nepali Public Relations Committees and the Non-Resident Nepali Association in the concerned countries to streamline the process.
The party also stated that transportation arrangements have been made to help citizens stranded in Kathmandu due to flight suspensions reach their home districts.
