KATHMANDU, Oct 6: Police have arrested two individuals in possession of 47 counterfeit notes of Rs 1,000 denomination from Chandrapur Municipality-10, Rautahat, on Saturday night.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Ram Kishore Patel, 36, and Santosh Upadhyaya, 40, both residents of Gadhimai Municipality-5, Bara.
Police deployed from the Area Police Office, Dumaria, found the counterfeit notes with the duo during a routine check of a motorcycle (Br 55 J 8293) traveling from Chandrapur to Gaur. Police have seized the counterfeit currency and further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
