KATHMANDU, Feb 7: Nepal has set a low target of 82 runs for Thailand in the last match of the ongoing Triangular Women's International T20 Series.
Nepal, who won the toss and elected to bat at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, managed to score 81 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted overs.
In the weak batting display, Samjhana Khadka scored 17 runs, Kabita Joshi contributed 14 runs and captain Indu Barma made 10 runs for Nepal. Sita Rana Magar remained unbeaten with 7 runs and debutant Rajmati Airee remained unbeaten on 11 runs. No other players reached double figures.
On behalf of Thailand, Onnicha Kamchomphu took 3 wickets. Nepal, who has been without points in five matches, aims to finish with a positive result in their final game. Thailand, on the other hand, is eager to defeat Nepal and win the title.
Thailand, with 8 points from five matches, is level on points with the Netherlands. However, Thailand has the edge in terms of net run rate. Even with a narrow defeat against Nepal, Thailand will lift the trophy.
