BANKE, March 23: A water tanker hit and killed two school students on a cycle in Dadhuwa Rural Municipality-2, Banke, leading to public outrage and unrest.
The incident occurred at Betahani Chowk when a tanker with registration number Bhe 1 Kha 4107 fatally struck 8-year-old Bishal Godiya and 9-year-old Shiu Kumar Godiya, according to Banke police.
Following the tragedy, enraged locals set the tanker on fire and pelted stones at a police post. The police have taken the driver in custody, while the protests are ongoing.
