Swearing-in of newly-elected MPs set for March 26

According to Federal Parliament Secretariat spokesperson Ekram Giri, MPs elected in the March 5 election will take their oath at 2 PM at the new Parliament building.

KATHMANDU, March 20: The swearing-in of newly elected members of the House of Representatives (HoR) is scheduled for March 26.



According to Federal Parliament Secretariat spokesperson Ekram Giri, MPs elected in the March 5 election will take their oath at 2 PM at the new Parliament building.

Following the Gen-Z protests on September 8 and 9, during which the former Parliament building (International Convention Centre) was set on fire, the Secretariat plans to hold the ceremony in the Parliament building currently under construction in Singha Durbar.


Of the 275 members of the HoR, 165 were directly elected, while 110 were chosen through the proportional representation system.
