KATHMANDU, July 17: Himal Power Ltd (HPL) has announced that Sandip Shah, country director of Statkraft, will take over the additional role as General Manager of HPL.
Issuing a press release, the HPL said that its board of directors appointed Statkraft's Nepal Country Director Shah to the post with effect from Friday. Statkraft holds 57 percent stake in HPL.

According to the release, Shah has been with SN Power/Statkraft for the last nine years and has led SN Power/Statkraft's efforts to develop new projects in Nepal while supporting Himal Power's operations.
A former president of Independent Power Producers' Association Nepal (IPPAN), Shah had also worked as the General Manager of Bhote Koshi Power Company.
