Police arrest six CPN-Maoist cadres in Taplejung

Taplejung, Nov 6: The police have detained CPN-Maoist-aligned six cadres in Taplejung on Wednesday in connection with assault over UCPN (Maoist) leaders while running election campaign in the district.



UCPN (Maoist) election candidate Sanchapal Maden had filed a complaint at the District Police Office demanding arrest of 18 CPN-Maoist cadres. Maden had claimed that those cadres attacked over UCPN Maoist leaders at Mehele VDC of the district on Oct 24 during the door-to-door election campaign by his party. [break]



According to DSP Govinda Prasad Acharya the arrested are Khemlal Pandhak, Dipchan Angbuhang Limbu, Dipindra Mao Fungling, Dhruba Maden, Sunil Ijam, Bir Bahadur Tamang. He told Republica online that those arrested will be charged an attempt to murder.
