'Number of Nepali students to go USA for higher studies decreased 7%':Report

KATHMANDU, Nov 11: Number of students from Nepal to go United States for pursuing higher studies has decreased by 7.3 to 8,920 in the fiscal year 2012/13, making it the 14th leading place of origin.



According to a report ´ Open Doors Report on International Educational Exchange´ published on Monday by the US-based Institute of International Education, a total of 257 American students studied in Nepal in 2011/12, which is 22.4 percent more than the previous year.[break]



"Nepali students who would like to pursue higher education in the U.S. may use the services offered by the United States Education Foundation-Nepal’s (USEF) Education USA Advising Center.," reads a press statement issued by the US embassy in Kathmandu on Monday evening.



USEF-Nepal is the only approved center for providing accurate information on studying in the United States, the embassy says in the statement.
