KATHMANDU, Jan 8: The Indian head priest of the Pashupatinath temple Mahabaleshwar Bhatta is resuming daily worship at the temple from Thursday morning following the government decision to withdraw the appointment of new priests at the temple.

Paramananda Shakya, the member secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Trust, said Mahabaleshwar has already been asked to resume worship at the temple, according to Kantipur FM. Shakya informed that Mahabaleshwar has told him that he was ready to resume worship at the temple if conducive atmopshere was created. "We are ready to do the job after your order. So please create conducive atmosphere for our return," Shakya quoted Mahabaleshwar as saying.
Meanwhile, Indian envoy to Nepal Rakesh Sood has said Indian people were worried due to the priest dispute at the Pashupatinath temple. Sood, however, said the dispute would not affect the relations between the two countries. He said Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal´s remarks that he would respect court order on the temple dispute was a welcome step. Sood was speaking at a school inauguration function in Sindhupalchowk on Wednesday. He said the dispute should not be politicized though some Indians are shocked by the dispute.
