PADT suspends special worship at Pashupatinath temple
Gourishankar Parajuli, the head of the cultural preservation division of the PADT, disclosed that during this month, only 181 to 251 individuals will be allowed to perform special puja at the Pashupati Temple on Mondays.
Today being the first Monday of the sacred month of Shrawan, temples across the country have witnessed a significant influx of devotees, particularly those expressing their reverence to Lord Shiva. While most people offer their prayers at the Pashupatinath Temple in a simple manner, the temple has made separate arrangements for those who wish to perform special worship.
Mondays hold particular significance to Lord Shiva devotees during the month of Shrawan, leading to increased crowds at Shivalayas and Shiva temples nationwide, including the revered Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu. Devotees have been lining up since the early hours of the morning to partake in the sacred rituals.
