KATHMANDU, July 31: The government once again sent a letter on Wednesday to the Mohan Baidya-led CPN-Maoist and other protesting parties, inviting them for talks for their participation in the Constituent Assembly elections scheduled for November 19 later this year.

“The Nepal government believes in resolving any national issue through dialogue and therefore it re-invites the CPN-Maoist and other political parties mentioned in this letter for talks,” reads a letter issued by Home Minister Madhav Ghimire, who also heads the cabinet consultation and co-ordination committee. The government dispatch comes after the CPN-Maoist a few days ago replied to the government’s earlier invitation. In the reply, it had said the parties, who have been opposing the November polls, are not available for any dialogue to be held with conditions. Earlier, UCPN (Maoist) had also wrote to the Baidya-led party, urging the leaders to sit for talks.
