KATHMANDU, May 29: The government has allocated Rs 218.30 billion for the education sector in the upcoming fiscal year 2026/27.
Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle announced the allocation while presenting the federal budget in Parliament on Friday.

The education budget is lower than the allocation made for physical infrastructure and urban development. The government has allocated Rs 286 billion for physical and urban infrastructure-related programs under the respective ministry.
Officials said the allocation aims to improve access to quality education while ensuring balanced investment across key development sectors.
