EC forms committee to monitor media house activities

KATHMANDU, July 23: The Election Commission (EC) has constituted a Communication Monitoring Committee to monitor whether media houses have abided by the election ´code of conduct´.



It may be noted that the government has announced the second Constituent Assembly ( CA) election for November 19. The committee has been formed under the convenorship of Election Commissioner Ila Sharma, Chief Election Commissioner Neelkantha Upreti said. [break]



The committee comprises Commission Secretary, Spokesperson, Under Secretary and Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Communications.



The committee will monitor contents published and aired by media houses across the 75 districts, recommend punishment for those violators and submit its report to the Commission, according to Commissioner Sharma.
