Thapa, who has lately joined the radical camp in the party led by party senior Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya, claimed Dahal met high-ranking officials of the Indian intelligence in Siliguri, India under the pretext of visiting Eastern Nepal two months ago. [break]
“Ask him if he did not meet the RAW officials in Siliguri. He is taking the integration process ahead as per their prescription,” said Thapa, who is in Chitwan.
Thapa claimed that the UCPN (Maoist) is preparing to integrate only 5,000 combatants as per the direction from RAW officials.
The Maoist general secretary, who is also the military chief in the party, vented ire against Dahal for not consulting him on the issues of integration.
Arguing that the PLA should lead the proposed directorate to be set up under the Nepal Army (NA), he said the PLA would not go for integration in a humiliating manner.
“The army that fought the people´s war will not go for integration without getting their rights ensured,” he said.
He argued that the party should demand integration of at least 10,000 combatants.
“The dispute over the handover of the containers keys is not a minor one; the future of the party depends on it,” he said, adding that the party establishment has broken the party discipline by signing the four-point deal with the Madhes-based parties and handing over of the containers keys to the Special Committee.
Thapa also accused Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai of “betraying” the party and the people by signing the BIPA with India, and claimed that the party would discuss the issue with the forthcoming central committee meeting and seek clarification from him. “Prior to his visit to India, the party standing committee had decided not to sign the BIPA,” he said.
