KATHMANDU, Aug 11: Commemorating the International Youth Day (IYD) on August 12, Associations of Youth Organization Nepal (AYON) is hosting an 'Umbrella Walk' followed by a photo exhibition, art-competition, open dialogue, story challenge and concert on Wednesday. According to the press release issued by AYON, 2,000 youth are expected to attend the walk.
The Umbrella Walk, which is the first of its kind in Nepal, will start from Babarmahal and end at Dasharath National Stadium in Tripureshwar. A photo exhibition showcasing the contribution of youth in the aftermath of the April 25 earthquake will be held at the National Stadium.

Subsequently, an open dialogue on youth social movement will be held amongst a panel of youth experts, which will be aired live on Avenues TV and via AYON YouTube channel. The day will also see a story challenge themed on youth and social entrepreneurship, which will be followed with a concert by various solo and group artistes from Nepal.
In the mean time, many schools in Kathmandu are also hosting art competitions with the aim of enabling youngsters to visualize their rights through creativity on the same day.
Any young person is free to join the walk under their respective umbrellas.
