The fire that broke out from Ramkripal Yadav´s shed soon spread to other houses in the vicinity. Fire engines could reach the village three hours after the fire broke out due to poor road condition though the village is merely around 20 kilometers from Lahan. [break]
Karamdayal Yadav, a local, said two fire engines from Lahan and Rajbiraj had reached the village to take the fire under control.
Locals said Ramkripal and Ramdayal brothers suffered major damages in the fire. Ramkripal was preparing to send his daughter Mamta to her in-laws on Sunday for the first time after her marriage on February 24 and lost jewelries, clothes, furniture, food grains and kitchen utensils in the fire.

Siraha Police put the initial damage at around Rs 15 million.
The Red Cross has distributed beaten rice to the victims who have lost everything in the fire.
Fire displaces four families in Katari
