GULMI, Sept 1: Even today, no flights could be made from the Resunga Airport, which has not seen regular flights for the past two months due to the adverse weather conditions of monsoon.
Even though Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) previously announced that it would start regular flights from today, the flight was not able to operate. The plane made its last flight last June. Although the flight from Kathmandu to Gulmi took place on June 20, due to bad weather, the aircraft returned to Kathmandu. Since then, the airport has not seen any flight land.
Demo flight to be held today at Resunga airport
With the improvement in the weather, NAC had recently opened tickets for the Resunga Airport with the information that regular flights would resume from today. However, Suman Thapa of NAC informed Republica that the plane could not fly even today due to unfavorable weather.
Three passengers had booked tickets to travel from Kathmandu to Gulmi, while 13 passengers had booked tickets for the journey from Gulmi to Kathmandu. The flight schedule had been set for departures from Kathmandu to Gulmi at 6:30 AM and from Resunga Airport to Kathmandu at 7:45 AM.
Regular flight operations started at Resunga Airport from mid-May.
