KATHMANDU, Nov 18: Deepa Oli, the mother of famous Nepali singer, UML leader and former National Assembly member Komal Oli, has passed away.
Deepa Oli passed away at the age of 82 at Alka Hospital in Kathmandu. The doctors announced that she died at 11:42 pm on Saturday.
Oli, who had been suffering from bone-related osteoporosis for the past some time, was being treated at Alka Hospital for the past few weeks.

The song Malalkiri Junkiri collected by Deepa Oli, who was born in Rolpa in 1998 BS, established Komal Oli in singing.
Deepa Oli's compilation and compositions have recorded more than two dozen songs in Radio Nepal, Music Nepal and various recording studios.
Deepa Oli, who was the patron of Deepa Lalit Trust, became the vice-chairperson of Rapti Anchal Women's Organization in 2043 BS. She is also a lifetime member of Nepal Red Cross.
She is survived by a husband, two sons and two daughters.
